Looking at the road traveled ...

Today, i realize that i`m almost finishing the second part of chapter 8 of "Angel Guardian".

I really cannot believe how far i arrived with this story!

When i decided to work on it, i was in a very bad moment in my personal life, so i decided to take the old concepts and story i wrote years ago and began to rewrite it and remake the characters just like a personal therapy to try to surpass the moment.

At the two weeks of begin to work on the sketches and pages, i received a call. Someone was working in a project of a magazine online and wanted to see my works. When i finished the call i really couldn't believe it!

That was the beginning of the journey. That was the impulse i was needing to begin my path of my dream to make manga.

Nowadays, when i look back i cannot say i wasted my time waiting for the perfect moment to begin. The perfect moment arrived itself. When i look the first pages and compare them with the last done, i cannot feel ashamed but proud of myself to keep compromised to improve. Every single panel is full of happy and cheering days and sad and tearful days.

With this, i learned the following life lessons:

• There is not perfect moment to begin something. You make the moment perfect and the decision to begin something is in your own hands.
• The begining is hard, but you have to be strong enough to continue if that is your dream.
• Cheer yourself! And that will give you energy to cheer others!
• In art, what you do today and you think is perfect it will not be at your own eyes in the future. That is normal! So never wait until you can draw perfectly because perfection is a never ending way.
• Thanks to everybody that give you a critic. They are your teachers without the title.
• And the more important: practice, practice, practice! Day after day, days and nights, in every free moment, in any piece of paper you have.

Never give up in your dreams!

Talking about characters....

Today, i was returning home listening music, when suddenly one song inspired me one scene.  It was very clear like if i was watching it in a big screen in front of me, so i began to type every single detail.  I tried not to lose any word that they were talking about it. Then, i realized i was almost crying with the scene, so i had to take a deep breath to avoid to cry  in front of my job partners XD

This is something that happens to me frequently, not only during the process to make dialogues but when i`m drawing the pages.  I need to feel the emotions of every character to put them on paper or the computer screen :P

I´ve asked to other artists if something similar happens to them during their creative process and some of then answer affirmative while others say they never had experienced something like that.

It`s nice to empathize with your characters.  It makes you feel you can really understand them, even if they are the good or bad boys, reflect their own feelings, not yours, but it can be a very exhausting experience.

It`s like if you are an instrument through they want to express themselves.  In my case, some of them like Kyrsiel is like is he who is taking decisions even in the mapping of the scenes! No matter how much i try to do an scene how i want, he will always find a way to do the scene fit to his desire XD

And if i am sincere, i love to see how they manage at the end to tell their own stories and not the one i want to tell  ^^

You have a wonderful idea!  You are ready to make your own manga/comic but... you don´t know where to begin with!

This is something that happens to more people that you can believe.  I´ve had the same problems many times at the begining.

I`ve received many messages of people asking me how they can do to begin with their manga/comics, so i will do short blog entries about the process i follow based on my own experience.

Hope this can be useful to clarify your questions and doubts.

Every artist works with the tools and process that makes him/her feels confortable, however there are some rules that you must to keep in mind at the moment of create your story.

Before to begin to draw the pages it is necessary you have you story defined, so the next blog entry will be focus on the elements of the story.

¡Tienes una idea maravillosa! Ya estás listo para hacer su propio manga / cómic pero ... ¡no sabes por dónde empezar!

Esto es algo que le ocurre a más gente de la que puedas creer. Yo misma he tenido este problema muchas veces al principio.

He recibido muchos mensajes de personas que me preguntan cómo pueden hacer para comenzar con su manga / comics, así que voy a hacer entradas cortas de blogs sobre el proceso que sigo basándome en mi propia experiencia.

Cada artista trabaja con las herramientas y los procesos con los que el/ella se siente cómodo (a), sin embargo, hay algunas reglas que debes tener en cuenta a la hora de crear tu historia.

Antes de empezar a dibujar las páginas, es necesario que hayas definido tu historia, por lo que la entrada de blog que viene será centrada en los elementos de la historia.
